We encourage people to participate fully in high ropes adventure. Our instructors are all fully practiced in rescue techniques we encourage clients to problem solve for themselves whilst out on our adventure courses. We are always on hand to give advice if required.
About Rope Runners
Rope Runners is an outdoor activity centre located at the Secret Nuclear Bunker, Kelvedon Hatch. It is accessible from the A128 and is about 20 minutes drive from Billericay if you go through the country lanes via Mountnessing and Wyatt’s Green. It is well worth a visit as proved when the U7s had a team session on Monday 7th June. The weather was great and the kids a fantsatic time. There is no limit or restrictions to how high you want to go, it is down to the individual and how daring you are. Of course, everyone has to prove themselves through some initial training to understand the basics and how to ‘clip on/clip off’.
Most of our party exceeded expectations and a couple of the youngsters even climbed the drop pole some 40ft above the gound!
Why not try Rope Runners for a birthday Party because this is the very reason how our initial contact happened. We started talking to one of the co-owners, Jo Ellis (no relation to our own Jo Ellis) and it turns out that Jo’s son already plays for Perry Street! We are now currently exploring ways to develop a partnership with Rope Runners and see how this can benefit both parties. Childrens Birthday Packages
Their birthday packages are for a mimimum of 9 children including the birthday child and include 2-2.5 hours of ropes course activity, The Climbing Wall, The Jump Zone and The Big Zip. It is recommend that childrens birthday parties are suitable for children aged 6-12. Above this age they would probably enjoy coming with a small group of friends, where they can all attempt as many of the courses as they feel able.
Rope Runners supply a dedicated member of staff to make sure the party runs smoothly, although their instructor will not be on the activities with the party. Adults can join in too for the same price.
Please note that children are encouraged to try all our activities but Challenge by Choice is operated. Cchildren are not forced to do something that they do not want to do. If any child chooses not to participate in a particular activity, then he or she will be returned to the adults accompanying that group. Children will not be allowed to start another course if there is less than 20 minutes to go before the end of the party.
Large party groups may be split into several smaller groups, with each doing a different activity to avoid long queues. If you would prefer your group to stay together then smaller numbers are better. The aim is to keep queues to a minimum but please be aware that there may be a wait for some activities.
Typically a party will consist of children attempting:
- The Induction course
- The Green (low level) course
- The Climbing Wall
- And a choice of The Big Zip or The Fan Descender
Depending on the age and ability of the children attending they may also be able to attempt some of the higher level courses.
Adult Parties
The courses are proving very popular with adults wanting to celebrate a “special” birthday. Whether your party is just for adults or a familly event including children the Rope Runners team will make sure you have a great time at the centre.
