Australian National Coach to give coaching session at Perry Street
Spencer Prior, who currently coaches the Australian National Soccer Team (affectionately known as the Matildas) will be providing the U13 team with an impromptu coaching session in July. Spencer who has played under Managers such as Martin O’Niell and Gary Megson played a total of 513 league and cup matches started his career with Southend and was promoted to the first team under David Webb. He moved on to Premiership football at Norwich after which he played for Leicester, Derby, Manchester City and Cardiff before returning to his home town team. During his two spells at the club Spencer helped Southend to consecutive promotions – a legend in every sense of the word.

Spencer Prior unlikely to take any nonsense from Perry Street U13s…
Featured Image – Under 9 Apes celebrate winning the under 9 2011 / 12 league. Well done boys.

On Sunday 4th March, the Apes U9s completed a hard fought victory against F.C. Redwings which confirmed them as Brentwood Division One League Champions. The team has worked hard all season producing some notable performances. Statistics bear witness to the all round performance of the team in a league which includes some very good teams. The boys have only failed to score 2 goals or more in one league game and have hit the net in every match played this season in both Cup and League. Added to this is the fact that in defence with 2 games left to play they have conceded just 7 goals in 14 matches. Congratulations to every member of the team on this achievement!
